What personal data we collect and why we collect it


When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.


If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. What data is being collected?

Sparkly Nails will collect information you have directly provided (i.e. when ordering or via web contact form) to contact you in order to complete orders, or answer any queries you may have.

Additional data may be collected automatically such as personally-identifying information like IP addresses (Internet Protocol), your location, browser type, operating system, referal source, page views etc.  This does not include your name or bank information.

  1. Web server tracking provided with our shopping cart software

We use WooCommerce as our shopping cart software and hosting.  WooCommerce comply with GDPR (see their information here – XXX) and all data (excluding payment information) is stored on their secure servers.


  1. Google Analytics tracking

Sparkly Nails use Google Analytics to collect information about customers’ navigation through our website, using cookies.   1. Facebook tracking

In order to see what sales and visits are made through our Facebook page we have a cookie on our website.  This data is stored on Facebook’s secure servers.  (see their GDPR information here – https://www.facebook.com/business/gdpr)


  1. PayPal / Stripe

Sparkly Nails use PayPal and Stripe as their payment providers.  Our Paypal and Stripe accounts will show name, address and amount paid.  It does not show card payment information.

Cookies are small information files which are stored on your computer or handheld device when you visit Sparkly Nails website. Cookies cannot harm your computer and personal information is not collected, such as name, address and payment details.


At Sparkly Nails cookies are used to remember when you access our website and recognise when you place products into the shopping basket. Enabling cookies for browsing this website can make your shopping experience better. However you can change the settings on your browser to prevent cookies being stored on your computer. To disable browsers from your computer you can check the “Help” or “Tools” menu of your browser.
